How Much is My 1850 worth.

#1 Post by alvera »

I bought my 1850 auto 2years ago from a deceased estate. This car has a very low mileage 23k proved by M.O.T.history as all paperwork was lost by his son's who were selling it via a mechanic who got it ready for sale.
The car is in fantastic unrestored condition. No rust but slight damage on bottom of rear passenger door ( not broke the paint ) and I have been advised to not repair it as it's best to leave it as there only original once.
Since I have had it I have fitted four new tyres as it was fitted with the originals from 1972.A new stainless steel exhaust, new electric fuel pump, new electronic ignition, overhauled twin Stromberg carbs. On changing the oil the mechanics were astounded at the condition underneath.
I would like your expert opinion as to how much to advertise the car and on what format to use.

Images now rotated. Is the car actually for sale now?

Thanks for turning the pics. The problem is knowing how much I can sell it for as it stands me a fair bit.

It is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it; what it 'stands you' is frankly irrelevant.

If you have FOMO and worry you might advertise it too cheaply, then I'd suggest some form of auction and allow it to determine its own worth in open market.

You could use the club insurance valuation service, but I'd say actual sale prices are probably only 75-80% of insurance valuations, unless you are extremely lucky

Shame that you are selling it, seemed to be a different story when you made the video about it.

I don't know what video you are referring to. As I don't remember making a video.

My apologies then.

Very odd as a near identical model appeared on facebook in a video, same colour, year, mileage.

I wish you every success in finding a new home for your car, hope it doesn't end up as yet another donor for a rusted out Sprint.
