Are you going to make your own hoses ? to get the length required

Will measure them and get them made up.
Some things I just don’t do.

You may know this already but i though id point it out, where the hoses comes out of the calipers have a 90 dec bend, so the hose doesn't sit as high, reason being when the axle is back in the car and in the high point after a bump the hose could hit the inner wheel arch

I’m not using the rubber hoses that came with the Callipers.

Bit of fettling today.
Managed to get a bracket to mount the RX8 electronic pedal mounted today.
The pedal looks further away from the brake than it actually is.



Next job is turn this lot into a full engine loom.

Found this Adaptronic pin out for the RX8.
Should make the wiring loom a tiny bit easier to follow.
Shout out to Tuned By Shawn for his hard work.
The idea being stripping the loom to its bare basics so it’s just an engine loom.
I may leave the immobiliser circuit in as it’s an extra security feature.

Petrol tank back from having some mods done.
Internal swirl pot inside the tank now.
Fittings change to AN.
I will eventually cover the tank in Black carpet material to match the boot trims.

I’m slowly taking wires out of the RX8 Fuse/Relay box that I’m not going to use.
So this will then run the engine independently of the Sprint Electrics.

Bit of a update

Taken all the Door Looms ABS and air bag out the main looms.
Leaving me with just what I’m hoping will run the engine.

Engine loom arranged on the engine and gearbox.

Engine ECU should sit comfortably on the gearbox tunnel.

Need to sort out a aftermarket Fuse Relay box with about 9 Relays and 18/Fuses.
To control the Mazda ECU Injection ignition Coils ETC.

Apart from that not much done to be honest.
I’ll post some photos on Monday when I’m next there.

I’m going to postpone fitting the Supercharger for now.
Plan is to get it all up and running.
Then with the rebuilt spare engine built for boosting.
Then fit the Supercharger and a rolling road ECU tuning session.

Looking at your pedal box arrangement you've got the master cylinders in side the car[ are you not running a servo

There be a remote servo somewhere.
Possibly under the dash.

Space being the limiting factor.

Oil cooler hoses routed measured and fittings ordinated.
Have been return to company that made them for the RX8 to be cut to length and crimped.

Also ordered a new Dual Pass Radiator along with a lower temperature coolant thermostat and again lower temperature Oil Cooler Thermostat’s which should keep the temps down.

Still working on the engine loom,

Radiator arrived all looking really good.
Widen than a standard RX8 Radiator.
Dual pass so one outlet is in a different location but as I still need to sort the hoses out that’s not a problem.
Fan assembly/Cowling will bolt up as the standard RX8.

Oil cooler hoses will be back this week.
So a bit more progress forward.

It isn’t a dual core but a super thick core with a baffles triple pass “N-Flo” style core design.
Superior cooling with none of the fitment issues.

Rear Axle refitted.
Rear Gaz Adjustable Ride and Height shocks
New Bolts thoughout with washers and Nyloc nuts.
New Bearings on the Half Shafts.
Disc conversion carried out.
Ford Sierra rear calipers and new handbrake cables (Sierra and Dolomite ends).
Honda Civic solid discs.

Ordered an overhaul kit for the calipers and new pads.
And braided brakes hoses.
Couple of the poly bushes showing signs of wear so they will be replace as well.
Complete set of steel wheel nuts.
Various brake pipe unions and pipe.
Will change the caliper colour so they stand out more.

Then can concentrate on the dreaded wiring.

Just a quick update.

Slowly getting the wiring done.

Taken all the relays fuses and wiring that are not going to be used all removed.
Then just use want it needs to run engine cooling fans.

Hopefully fire it up on the (That’s a long way off) RX8 fuse/Relay box then swap it out for some else later.
