They say max 50psi hot at any revs.
Anything more than that they start leaking oil.
Ok, thanks, I’ll keep an eye out for that.

I suppose if you work it out like a thermostat in a cooling system you’re trying to push the coolant the wrong way.
Some coolant will flow but not much.
Swap the hoses round and bingo full flow.

These things are sent to try us.

Just seen on you tube a MK3 Escort Rally car with a Jaguar 3lt V6 Rear wheel drive.

Mercedes use coloured marking on the shells.
Blocks and crankshafts are physically stamped with three letters.
Think what caused it was the change in engines. I pretty sure the first engine blew up through lack of oil (I didn’t have enough in the sump cos oil leak), and when I put the new engine in, the oil filter take off seated in a different orientation. I didn’t notice so I connected the oil lines up as I had on the old engine, which has cause my pressure problems. So my problems were different but had the same symptoms of spun bearings.

That looks mega. It seems that people are now clued into this engine. When I first started this swap 7-8 years ago, I only knew of 1 car with this engine swap, that rat-rod MGB GT and that came out a year or two after I had bought my S Type for the swap but before I’d actually put the engine in. Since then, I’ve seen quite a few people do it or at least start it. The guy with the MGB has a few cars with the same engine, there’s a guy swapping one into an RX8, there’s a few Locosts with them, and that Mk3 escort.

The Jag bearings are also annoying cos you can only buy them from Jaguar as halves, and each half is around £10-15 depending on either con rod or main bearing. And with torque to yield bolts on the con rods which also cost £15 each, to do a set of bearings is around £300!! I have since found a set of King bearings for much less but still doesn’t soften the blow.
So many ideas... So little budget... So little time.
