I'm hoping this doesn't clash with our road trip this year to ...

the Dolomites.

Hello all - a few more details regarding TDCIR this year.

As stated, our hosts are Milestones Living History Museum in Basingstoke. There is plenty for all to see and do, including a very nice cafe, gift shop etc. The living village has an authentic 1940's pub, sweet shop, tea rooms all of which will be open for us on the day to enjoy.

All club members driving a car to display at the event will be given a wristband which will allow free entry into the museum. Any passengers, friends and family will be able to enter the museum at a reduced fee of £15.50. TDCIR is located in a large field to the side of the main museum.

The museum opens to the general public at 10.am, but the café and toilets etc will all be open from around 09.30.

The location is very easy to find and is well sign posted following the 'Leisure Park' brown signs all around the area. Milestones is surrounded by leisure facilities including an Aquadrome, bowling, cinema etc so may be good for a longer stay in the area.

Basing House https://www.hampshireculture.org.uk/basing-house is a short distance away, and contains the ruins and grounds of the largest private house in Tudor England, which suffered at the hands of Oliver Cromwell during the English Civil War.

Accommodation:
Conveniently, there is a Premier Inn located very close to Milestones!- Premier Inn Basingstoke West (Churchill Way) I am aware a number of TDC members have already booked for the Saturday evening. There is a restaurant next door, so it will be a good opportunity to meet up with fellow club members and friends for a chat over dinner or a drink in the evening. Free onsite parking is available at this hotel.

Look forward to seeing you in September!

Best wishes

MC

I'll pop along, as long as all goes well with the imminent arrival of child number 1.
1978 Twilight Purple Dolomite 1850HL The Lolomite.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.
