South West Dolly Day Sun 29th June

#1 Post by triumphdolomiteuk »

Date Confirmed - Sunday 29th June
The Haynes Museum in Somerset https://www.haynesmuseum.org/
To get to the Haynes museum, make your way onto the A303 then take the A359 (near Sparkford) which will then take you to the main entrance which is about 0.2 mls on the left.
Haynes will offer a discount of 30% off the standard admission pay at door rate for a group of 15 persons or more and is only available for group bookings. They will create a specific discount code and a web link for our club which they will email me. I will then forward this email to each person booking their own tickets online. I will therefore need your email address to send you the link. Complimentary museum tours can also be arranged but need to be pre-booked in advance. They recommend allowing 45 minutes for the tour. There is a café on site for use during the event serving sandwiches, cakes, hot pasties & sausage rolls and soup. The café closes at 16:00.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and let’s hope whatever weekend we choose it will be fine!!

Re: South West Dolly Day - Haynes Motor Museum - Somerset.

I have had two confirmed responses with specific dates when they can attend - Richard Old & Nick Bridle - thank you fellas.

I have also had three responses with "will attend but no specific dates" - Alan Emery, Charles Squirrel & George Thompson - thank you as well.

Another seven have responded who are considering attending but can't commit just yet.

So far, I have Richard & Nick both free Jun 29, Jul 20 & Jul 27 although they are free singularly for other dates in June/July.

If anyone who still wants to attend has any dates please can you let me know as soon as you possibly can so I can clear the date with Haynes. Don't forget that if less than 15 attend then the previously announced discounted price wouldn't be valid.

Also, I'll be out of the country from April 1 - 6 May and might not have much opportunity to deal with the arrangements.

Many thanks all. Take care.

Mary & I will probably come down (not in a Dolly). We organised a TDC event there many years ago between the Bristol, and what was Avon, and the guys from the Devon area. I believe we had use of the small track there too.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

Following a number of responses from members re the forthcoming SW Dolly Day at the Haynes Motor Museum at Sparkford and having just confirmed the date is clear with Haynes I can announce that this event is a goer and will be on Sun 29 June.

Hopefully some of the 'unsure' responders may now be able to attend. I have 6 definite cars from the South West with 2 more possibles.

I can confirm that the 30% discount on the Haynes entry fee will be valid as the minimum if 15 attenders applies to the number of people - not cars - although it would be good to get the 15 in cars or even more!!

I'll be getting details of how to book your place from Haynes later today but in the meantime please let me know if you are now able to attend.

Take care,

Mike Taylor.

At last, here are the details for the above TDC event at the Haynes Motor Museum on Sun 29 June 2025.

" Haynes have provided a link and a personal discount code below for you to book your tickets. Online bookings must only be made by individuals. As the Museum is a charity, we are able to claim gift aid, by booking online and selecting gift aid (if applicable) your admission will become an annual pass at no additional cost.

To book tickets, Follow this link : Car Clubs: https://tickets.haynesmuseum.org/#category_13

Choose ticket type and add tickets to cart. Add discount code: Dolomite30

General terms and conditions of group bookings

This link and code will expire by 27th June 2025, if minimum numbers are not reached, you will incur the minimum fee outstanding, or tickets will not be valid. The outstanding fee will be invoiced and must be paid on the last working weekday prior to the date of your booking either by BACS payment or we can take card payments over the phone. Payments cannot be taken on the day of your booking. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person.

Should a member of the group not be able to attend on the date, their ticket can still be redeemed which will activate the annual pass – please call reception on 01963 440804 on the day of your booking to redeem the annual pass.

Please do not send this link outside of your group. Usual museum tickets can be purchased through the main website for non-group bookings. Should you have any further questions please get contact Haynes direct on the above number.

The link for the Haynes Museum website is https://www.haynesmuseum.org/ Note that the museum opens at 10:00 on the day of the event but I will be there in advance to help club members arrive from about 08:30 if required. The location and directions to get to the Museum can be found in this link.

Also, be aware that the discount will apply for 15 or more tickets booked and, to date, I have had about 16 - 17 responses from those interested in attending with 1 or 2 possible - many arriving in Dolomites - as well as an enquiry from the Standard Triumph Car Club so now that the booking details are notified others may wish to join in. I look forward to seeing you. "

Hi,

This sounds like a fab event. 😀👍

My friends, Simon, Kevin, Steve and I have recently purchased a March 1972 Dolomite with the intention of completing Club Triumph’s Round Britain Reliability Run in October. We therefore need lots of opportunity for road testing ahead October’s run and your event on 29th June seems to be just what we need. 😀👍

Kevin, Simon and myself are free to come down from Shropshire and join in the day on the 29th. I’ll book some tickets and we look forward to meeting fellow TDC members and their Dolomites on the day.

Cheers

David
