Hi all ,
Just joined club this, though not a dolomite owner /driver,own a 1982 tr7 ,but at the end of the day all in the Triumph family !!!.
Had to join to get access to spare parts ,ie, replacement of ‘flexible’su carb spacers between manifold and SU carbs ,this is not the first time I have had to go to other clubs to obtain spares ,not long ago the SD1 club for a Otter heater speed control switch .as originally fitted by triumph on tr7 ,what gets me ,is the fact that other marks of car has these items ,and the suppliers of Triumph spares state’no longer available’ for tr7.!!!!!.
The original carb spacers are no better than useless really ,so alternatives had to be sought ,if you can supply them ,why can’t we get the alternative from the ‘triumph’ suppliers,I won’t mention any names but you can guess who they are !!!!!
Just a rant from me ,had a chat with member secretary, telling me about club ,so looking forward to mags when they come ,and very much appreciate that club could help me .
Ray.

Re: Interchangeable spare parts ??
Hello Ray, welcome.
Sadly it's a case of diminishing demand; the market wouldn't sustain multiple suppliers of the same parts, so those who put in the R&D are generally the sole supplier. You may think that there is still choice out there, but in reality there is only one manufacturer for anything but the most common of parts who often primarily deal with or were commissioned by one supplier who then supplies their competitors.
As a Club, we can only supply to paid up members to avoid being deemed a retailer and the complications that would bring us.
