Hello all

I found some Sierra calipers to re furb for the trackerjack brakes. They were a bit crusty. The one on the right shows the condition they were both in..

A blast with the wire wheel on the grinder, new seals, pistons, and bleed nipples, and they’ve turned out ok. I’ll give them a lick of paint when I’ve checked for clearances when they are fitted up.

I’ve fully undersealed the car and am now pumping a load of Bilt Hamber dynax into the cavities. I’ve got a full set of polybushes and Gaz adjustable shocks to fit next.

I’ve also bought a pair of trailing arms because mine were rotted out around the shock mount.

Im really enjoying the tinkering at the moment. Hoping to be on the road for a show down at my old man’s place in Northiam sometime in mid June. I’ve also booked LLU into the Patina show at Lulingstone castle in August. https://patina.events/ looks like it will be a good event.

Still plodding on here….

I’ve finished the rear end - all polybushes, new brake shoes, braded lines, and a rebuilt lsv.

So on to the front end yesterday and have had a good weekend stripping it out, bushes removed, paint stripped, and then a lick of paint.

Still hoping to be back on the road this month. 🤞🏻

The front end is coming along. Bushes all went in without any bother. New ball joints all round and the brake conversion from Jon all went together as expected. I’ve just got to fit the calliper's and brake hoses, then bleed the brakes.

I’ve a couple of days off of work this week so should have the time to get LLU back on the tarmac and able to drive down to my old man’s local show next weekend. 🤞🏻

It could be the perfect shakedown run. I’ll report back….

Back on the tarmac…. If a little lower than expected! A bit of history repeating itself here because I went through the same process with VYK. When I saw how low LLU is I thought that driving this low would be a no. But I have to say LLU drives really nicely considering. VYK was a lot more crashy than LLU is. Maybe that was down to the fact that VYK was on shortened springs? LLU has standard length HD springs so maybe those and the SuperPro bushes have helped?

Anyway, I will tinker with the ride height a bit more in good time, so in the meantime I’m going to enjoy some summer Sprinting.

Thanks. it’s gonna be a hot shakedown run today! Temperature’s creeping into the 30s by the looks of the forecast. 100 mile round trip to Northiam. I’m confident all will be well with LLU. 🤞🏻

One thing I had to put right this morning before I go…. Make sure the sidelight indicator lens is round the right way!

Enjoyed the run down to Northiam to visit my old man and park up at the show. There were some lovely cars on show, fabulous weather, cold beer, a good live band, and a bbq. What more could you want? It would have been lovely to stay for the full day and put a few cold ones away but sadly I had no designated driver with me!

When I returned to my car to drive home there was a pageant blue Sprint parked close by. Dale’s I think. Lovely car Dale - still looking good! Looking at the photo shows that I really need to lift the front suspension on LLU pronto……
