Top Gear BL special - next sunday
you gotta remember guys. this was tv made for a mass audience ... yes they did fix the cars to fall apart. and they where not driving them properly round that track. for this mass audience.
its funny. BL did make some nasty.. nasty cars.
some of the reactions on here are a little ott.
the presenters did say that they love those 3 cars and have made light of the build qulity issues. ... come on they where genral complaints that bl cars suffered from that they made light of.
they could have said the dollys headgasket blew and that the princess gearbox lunched itself. reinforcing stero types
do you think owners of 944 and 924s and 928s where impressed when there cars where made to look stupid? no but we all know that there good cars ( other than the 924 ... which was just wank...)
anyone with a proper interest in cars will be able to see through what was shown on top gear tonight.
i would advise that no one does send a letter into points of veiw complaining as that would look partically lame. there would be people in woodlane london rolling on the floor laughing at such a letter.

started already
Work tomorrow ? I am getting texts already.
Must have been a rubbish example for the money.
I sold mine for £750 with a years mot to a lad in Gloucester, top gear car went 300 yards mine went 300 miles in Friday peak time traffic.I used to drive down "the twines" which is a mile of cobbles every day.
Just proves that for someone who is supposed to know loads about cars ,cant choose a car that is decent .
it did look good on the motorway then was rubbish on the track, but i suppose it didnt help that the overdrive didnt work.
whose car did it used to be ,can they confirm if it was really that bad.
worst bit for me was that the princess won.
now have a stag, thank god clarkson liked that or I would be walking to work.

They are useless muppets on top gear, for £1200 he should have got a decent running sprint, not the pile of s##t he bought.
I suspect after the throttle cable broke and they bodged it up that the replacement never opened the carbs up fully, hence the lack of power!

Yeah, I found it quite funny. I missed the first segment so I'll catch it on the rerun but still.
It was so obviously a fit up when the first door fell off the Rover, hinge pins replaced by cheese straws no doubt. But then when the rear bumper fell off the dolly - you what! I've spent days trying to get bumpers off. Gelignite wouldn't shift some I've seen. The way that sprint moved off the line at Mira even Mr Tilson wouldn't argue that a well set up 1300 would have eaten it for breakfast, my 1500 certainly would. I expect the scene we saw was the rerun with one HT lead pulled because they didn't get the result they wanted on the first go. A fix not worth getting het up over. The handbrake test would have been passed if it had been set up correctly even by the car that weighs 2 ton.
Fair enough about the panel fit test. Christ if they thought that was bad they should try it on a late car.
Anyone want to buy it up for the club, fix it up and show 'em how a sprint should move? £100 each should put her back where she belongs, on the road and surprising many moderns.

Hello
Wake up everyone who thinks he either purchased the wrong car for the wrong amount or that the cars conveniently break down every time they go to pull away. It's all set up as Knightrider has already said.
The have done the same with exotic Italian stuff but it makes good TV so long as you don't take it seriously.

ha ha......that is amazingly tacky....cinematic stuff !It was so obviously a fit up when the first door fell off the Rover, hinge pins replaced by cheese straws no doubt. But then when the rear bumper fell off the dolly - you what! I've spent days trying to get bumpers off.
seems a shame they sacrifice credibility for the sake of a few cheap laughs.
