seat mount sandwich plates

In the MSA blue book drawing Q32 shows how you should mount seats using 3mm thick reinforcing plates above and below the floor. Does anyone know if you can buy these anywhere? I could make some but it seems a lot of aggro. Every time Demon tweeks or whoever sells a pair of seat mount brackets they should sell 8 plates too, but I can't find them listed anywhere. Anyone got any ideas?

Most people I know who build rally cars recommend you never mount the seats directly to the floor, instead weld bars across between the tunnel and sill and mount the seats to them. That way you have the seats fixed to a nice solid box section rather than a plain sheet that can easily bend...

The problem with the dolly though is that the floor is so high that you dont really want to go fitting box above it. I'm going to see if I can fit some box below the floor.

How about a piece of flat steel welded across from the centre to the sill, instead of box, then drill through it and use the existing mounts, or maybe do the same underneath, more flat bar?

Its relatively easy to get hold of and will help spred the weight / reinforce the floor I am sure. A bit of say 8mm thickness isnt going to increase the seat height that much.....

All very interesting theories chaps, but they don't answer the question.
Basically the book asks for min 3mm x 67mm x 67mm plate above and below the floor so thats what I'm doing. Looks like I'll be making them myself.
