Grease

#1 Post by Mad Mart »

Just been stripping down the reconditioned engine I bought a few months ago. Thought I'd check the mains & big end bearings to see what size they are (they are standard). When I took the bearing caps off I found the bearings & crank covered in a dark grey grease. Should I remove this grease or will the oil wash it through.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

If its dark grey/black its probably somethink like graphogen assembly paste. I'm allways carefull not to cover any of the oil ways.
