Got all the plumbing done today & had the engine running for 15-20 mins. (sounds nice). I still have to spray the airbox, think I'll spray it black although I think it should be grey.
Must get those dashpots shined as well.

Are you sure the copper looking pipe is a good idea for the fuel supply? I was told years back that petrol will react with copper and eventually sludge up?

Beautiful! Ever thought of a bonnet made of glass Mart? Seems a shame to hide it away.Mad Mart wrote:

Re: Project BFR (1973 Mimosa Sprint)
I heard the same recently from the Scimitar forum, nice bit of stainless pipe should look just as bling. Very nice work though, it might even motivate me to do another Dolly.Paul Geering wrote:Are you sure the copper looking pipe is a good idea for the fuel supply? Interesting, I've never heard that before, must investigate. The pipe came with the car, I just cleaned it up. It looks a pucka job.Paul Geering wrote:Are you sure the copper looking pipe is a good idea for the fuel supply? I was told years back that petrol will react with copper and eventually sludge up?
Had the afternoon off so decided I really must get on with tarting up a set of wheels. Thanks to David & MikeyB for the offer of wheels but I managed to get a decent set from the attic. Surprising what you find hidden away.
Two down, two to go.

I ordered a set of Pirelli 3000s on Saturday evening from Black Circles. They arrived at my bro-in-law's garage today. What excellent service.

Re: Project BFR (1973 Mimosa Sprint)
To get the paint off the spokes I just used some "off the shelf" stuff, not even Nitromors.
On the rear & centre of the wheel I used a wire brush attachment on my B&D, as most of the paint was flaking off (as usual).
