Fog Lights....a whinge
Beemers aren't too bad to drive. I had a go in my mates W reg 323 auto and thought it was ok. Mind you he's had a whole load of things go wrong with it. Rear parking sensors knacked, two PAS pumps, two rear springs and a rear caliper. There seems to be a slight paint mismatch at the rear o/s wing, I think it's had a bump, been repaired and wasn't registered re: HPI. Must admit I'm enjoying my Volvo at the moment - heated seats
Fog lights - don't use 'em unless I REALLY can't see the car in front. My bulbs go into shock if they are used

another good example of the Ford parts bin being used appropriatly as my hocus Focus also has the same switch! Just need to tell them that the same switch is inappropriate in an Aston Martin, though I might let them off as they do make such gorgeous cars.

I was trundling steadily (ahem) in the Blue Flame on the M25 late on Wednesday evening in the worst of the fog and saw examples of good and bad fag light etiquitte. Its a no-brainer really, put them on when you don't want to be shunted by some idiot who is driving too fast for the conditions and turn them off when you can see stuff again.
The best example was a foreign artic, driving at the appropriate speed and showing correct lights for the conditions. The real trick was this: When the brakes were applied the fog lights flashed, just like hazard lights. When the driver indicated to pull-out and pass slower traffic, the fog light on the right-hand side of the vehicle flashed in unison with the indicator then returned to normal when the indicator was cancelled. I don't know whether this is a legal requirement in some countries? Brilliant, simple and effective.
