It Lives Again

#1 Post by Mr.Speedy »

After 2 days lying on my back underneath the Speedymobile replacing sills, Heel board repairs, floor pan repairs and anything else I was unfortunate enuf to knock a hole in I got to play with the oily noisy bit.
Car had stood for 2 1/2 years in slightly damp garage. In that time replaced Dizzy with old style Lumenition optical equiped one. Never ran it.
After a couple of attempts the old gal sprung into life . Warm up , quick tune and time by ear, it runs a treat and I've had a stupid bloody great grin on my face all afternoon!
Runs better now than ever did, I assume due to electronic ignition.

Now all I need to do is rebuild all the brakes and I can get an MOT.

Look out Kev!

cool!

over this hol ive sourced some bandit clocks for the fighter, fitted a new tail light so now shes got twin tail lights, tidied up the wiring, cleaned her up a bit, fitted rainbow diffractor to headlight and im looking out for a set of 36-38mm carbs off a GSXF tourer. shes on 29mm at the minute and runs out of puff at about 100mph as the wind resistance wont allow her to get into the power band in top. bigger carbs will bring the power band more into the mid range so she should pull my arms off and drag me up to about 130 tops.

slow compared to vtr, but looks like a right hooligan machine, chucks flames out the mod'd scorpion stubby can and sounds like a moto gp bike...
