The paintwork is beautiful! Still got 3 doors to paint and fit, then paint the sills black.

When I bought the car, the only real problem I had was that the driver-side wheelarch repair wasn't brilliant - the paint had cracked under some filler. It didn't look too bad, but was the only real blemish on an otherwise perfect bodyshell. As it turned out this repair panel had been fitted into position then simply fillered over - it was not even welded in place! All sorted now, but whoever was responsible deserves a slap!

I am not entirely sure if it's going to be ready for Stoneleigh as I still need to find a fitter for the vinyl roof and the MoT has just run out...

Other updates include...
  • New Old Stock front seat covers from benny-zt, which means the interior will look like new!
  • New vinyl has been ordered
  • Wheels will be sent off for refurbishing soon, so I need to get some tyres fitted to the temporary Sprint wheels
  • The rear chrome trim 'feet' were sent off to be re-chromed
Parts on my wish-list...
  • Door cards in tan - uncut, undamaged and wrinkle free if possible (mine are cut for speakers)
  • Unfaded/un-ripped rear seat back
  • New aerial
  • Someone in London to fit my vinyl roof and C-pillar vinyls!
  • Stainless steel STANDARD exhaust (or swap P/X my current stainless Sports)
And one question - how far from the front of the wing do the coachlines go?

Thanks guys :)

It does seem a bit surreal seeing my car in a high gloss finish  I just cannot wait to get it back home! The accident happened almost 5 months ago now, so it's certainly been worth waiting for...

Yes, stand 199.

(They actually belong to my ex Susie, so if you like what you see and decide to buy then I'd ask you to give me a cheque payable to her that I can post to her as I doubt she'd accept cash off me!)

That looks wonderful mate. Very nice job indeed.

Told you those C pillars were crusty. Not any more, eh.

Do you still want me to search out those rear stainless trims?

Nearly there.

Howard, I have the missing boodlid badge you need. If I can make Stoneleigh then I'll fetch it. Brown's replacement auto should be fitted by then (hopefully).

Nice to see your Sprint coming together.

I'm so glad I took those trims off, any longer I am sure it would have spread from surface rust to holes! Likewise at the rear of the vinyl roof!

I actually picked up some trims recently, so I'm good for those now! I'm trying to track down some of the little triangular plastic blanks for the ends now :)
