Very good turn out with 70+ cars, good to meet some new members and catch up with the old faces.
Thanks to Yelow Banana for the organising and to the folk who helpped man the regalia stand.
It was noted by many memers that Andy P (general sec) and Steve W (chairman) did not make an apperance.
I saw only one car leave on a recovery truck and that was a GT6.

Regret I couldn't make it due to a misfire problem which took a hour or so to trace. (Magnatronic unit slightly loose on the baseplate). By the time I had, I'd kind of missed the boat somewhat. Gutted

No SDD as it was decided that TDCIR was near enough, May sort a pre christams thingy or something or other if there enough intrest, will speak to TC and Carl about it.

That's exactly the same problem I had with my Sprint! The set screw that holds the Magnatronic unit in place is ever-so-slightly too long. The solution is to file it down a touch, or it will come loose again.

Exactly what I did in the end. Filed a couple of threads off and put it in with threadloc.

It was the last item I checked because there isn't much to go wrong there ( I thought )

Great day, nice to put faces to a few names.

For Reg and Lee's benefit; I made it home, under my own power. Thanks for stopping lads and for lightening up what had been a very frustrating time punctuated only with really rude words.

Fantastic day (other than the journey back) and brilliant venue - I really enjoyed the museum and the various eclectic cars gathered for the rare breeds show. Many thanks to all who had a hand in the organisation.

Lovely as ever to see so many cars, and to chat to people, old friends and new.

I am too exhausted to type more now, but will expand on the problems I had (and my rather ingenious bodges) tomorrow.

You were missed Derek. Bloody bad luck mate.

Many thanks to Yellowbanana for organising this event, you done a great job.

Nice to meet up with fellow members new & old. Had a good chat with most of you, I think, and met a very nice couple from Holland (I forget their names) with their modified Sprint.

Also have a couple of possible projects lined up (either/or, not both).

I have to agree with Justyn, where were the chairman, secretary, spares etc.? I know you are unpaid volunteers and you do a sterling job all year round but surely for this one day, the TDC annual event no less, you could/should make the effort to come & support the organiser(s) and the rest of us members. I for one was most disappointed by your absences.

Dolly Fest,... sorry TDCIR was such a good day i don't know where to start.
Used by us really as an excuse to get away for a family weekend.

Cars not really finished yet but we really wanted to use this as a test run. 330 mile round trip, so we have learnt a few quirks but its all great fun.

As non members we were a little worried but were greeted with open arms and smiles, that helped in the making of what was for us a wonderfull day.
We spoke to a number of people throughout the day about our experiences since getting the dolomite back on the road, which is only a few weeks, we really did feel like we were in the right place, there was so much expertise and advice on hand, where else could we have found that much helpfull information?
There were alot of fantastic cars there looking highly polished, looking at some of the work some have put into them took us back, luckily the two we have now don't need too much doing.
Ours was the only gold one there and we are not sure if there are any others now.

We met some great characters and it was nice to put some faces to names, we may even meet up with some local people.

The Rare Breeds car display had some right gems, including a Sprint, and the museum had alot to offer. Even had some cars on track for a while although we didn't really get time to watch them properly.

Top marks everybody.

Well done Mike, and thanks to you and your unsung assistants for doing it. A good venue and even the weather held; believe it or not I caught the sun!

Foolishly followed the man with the sat nav on the way home and ended up crawling through Bristol and its many red traffic lights; not good for a Sprint with stationary cooling problems!! Was well on the M5 before I scrubbed all the excess heat. Developed a misfire and reluctance to idle by the top of M5 but limped it home. No water loss though, so thanks to Ken once again for the ARP head studs. Investigations will ensue shortly...

Apologies to the red 1500 (?) who was stopped just around the corner from the museum with hazards on, no sign of the driver so we weren't able to offer to help; hope that you made it home OK...

Finally, a big thanks to everyone who made the effort to attend; I was pleased to see such a good turn out having been slightly pessimistic that it wasn't exactly where I perceive most members to be centred, but it was a good way of reducing the travel burden for the south westerners for a change. It was only 270 mile round trip for us. Maybe we should head a little north next year buoyed on its success, and take the show to the northerners for a change?

Fantastic day from start to finish, well done yellow banana, great to catch up with people i have not seen in the flesh for a few years (Oh and some i see only to regularly ). Probably too many highlights to list but i have to say i enjoyed the convoy west (8 dollys), the fella who turned up in a sprint for the rare breeds day and then watched as about 40 came through the gate 5 mins later, the tahiti blue sprint (love that car darren), and the look on the traffic queues face on the way home as they waited on a hill in stationary traffic with clutches smoking, looking to their left and seeing three pristine sprints in the layby with owners sat in chairs eating sausage rolls and chatting while waiting for the traffic to start moving again we certainly got a few smiles and a wave from matt cotton, sorry i didn't get a chance to say hi matt couldn,t find you for most of the day. Fantastic.. oh and eightiesflamer hope you found the enthusiam needed to crack on with your project we are all waiting....
