I could be wrong, but I think the lowest hole for the rear steel trim is going to be too low for the HL trim Mart..it curves up above that hole I reckon. If so, sort it before paint?

Thanks Reg, good spot.

The head is coming on nicely. Yesterday I stripped, cleaned & rebuilt the rocker assembly. All the rocker arms were knackered on the surface that locate on the cam. Luckily I've had a good spare set sat on my computer room floor for a couple of years now. That doesn't bode well for the cam itself. But I think I have a few of those spare.
Lapped the valves in today, all ready to rebuild the head tomorrow or Monday.
Thanks again Reg, I'm really pleased you spotted the unwanted holes.

I finished assembling the head today. I had to replace the buckets and the cam shaft as when I started to clean them up it was evident that the surfaces were pitted. Valve clearances checked & corrected.

I fitted the head to the block today. Cleaned & refitted the timing gear then did the valve timing. Then I stripped & rebuilt the waterpump & cleaned up the timing gear cover. (didn't take any pics).
Mary cleaned & painted the fuel tank, then she went on to polish/clean some other bits...
Fuel tank...
Expansion tank...
Shiny bits & black bits...

Great to see that you have embraced the 'way of the wire wheel' into your dolomite life now. Excellent.

I've embraced the 'way of the wire wheel' for years Ken, I now embrace the 'way of the knotted wire wheel'.
Pic of head reunited with block...
Stripped & cleaned the oil pump this evening. Loads of goo in there. Checked the tolerances and all are good...except for the relief valve spring which is about 10mm. shorter than it should be.

Less practical than the tray, shouldn't a '74 Sprint have a carpet tunnel covering and gearstick gaitor

?

I'm pretty sure it was just the non O/D models that didn't have the tray Ian, I could be wrong.

I'm not sure how Facebook works but you are looking for 'Paintpallet Autobodies'. Photos aren't great but then, I never took them.

Paintpallet only shares some profile information
Looks like the images are only available to people who've added "Paintpallet" as a "friend".

Neither am I and I signed up a year ago or more but still haven't worked out what to do when someone "pokes" me.

Still, I'm sure we'll see the pictures on here soon enough. Please. Pretty please with a cherry on top.
