Here's the article from Practical Classics. Following their visit they've valued the car at just below their valuation of a concours Sprint - which leaves me very happy with their opinion of the car.

What an odd coincidence... I've just been reading that in Morrisons!

I reckon their valuation is a bit low, maybe they haven't updated Sprint prices for a while in their price guide. Sure it's "only" an auto, but that alone makes it a rare bird. There are only 60 left to choose from! The exceptional condition and originality of this car make it for sure one of the best in the world and i'd place it today at £12-15k, maybe £17k for insurance replacement value.

I can’t believe that 9k valuation. What divots they are! A really lovely example of a proper classic car, in fantastic original order, with interesting history for a piffling 9k! I don’t think so.

Nice write up though Murdo. All the hard work is worthwhile. Well done you

Not seen the article but have followed your resto thread, 9k is way to low, in the next issue of practical classics there will be a restored RS2000 valued at 25k +

Hi Dave, you wont make them out of ply, hardboard would be the best thing. I have mine out of the car at the moment to do rust proofing. If you pm me your email address i can send you some photo's of them so you will see the shapes if that's any help?

Tony.

I saw the article in the magazine too. Asda is my supermarket of choice as I'm about half a mile up the road from the nearest store.

I never paid much attention to their valuation, as they have a concourse one valued at £9,750, which is silly.

TBH, I will be hoping for a valuation of around £16k - £17k, as I do think Sprints of this condition etc are worth that money, and would sell - out of the 3 Sprints that were advertised early last year for between £21K - £24k, I believe at least one of them did sell, so £16k - £17k would be fair.

Dolomites are becoming more popular year on year, as more are appearing for sale, ones that need at lot of work that wouldn't necessarily have been considered for selling, even 2 years ago.
