Coolant all topped up (Halfrauds ready mixed stuff for older cars - good bit of kit) and little LD ventured into the daylight for the first time in quite a while. However, she just got turned around. I reaqainted myself with the bits that need doing. The only bit that needs sorting is where a patch was welded just at the end of the sill where it joins the wheelarch. There are a couple of pinpricks around the bootfloor area. Most of it just needs a tidyup. Might have it done for next weekend and then onto the sills. Again, just a tidyup.
Then some Honeysuckle paint should get slapped on, front bumper reattached and the lights shoved back on. Just need to fit her new plates (with 'TRIUMPH DOLOMITE CLUB - LEMONDROP' slogan) and that's it bodywork-wise(fingers crossed).
Then the oily stuff

Spent most of the day underneath the back end of LD. Mixture of grinder flap disk and lecky drill wire wheel saw off the muck and surface rust from under the back end without too much hassle. Just a question of taking my time and doing it properly. About a dozen match head sized 'holes' which will be filled. Some pock marking of the surface of the metal but nothing too bad really.
All rust killed and one coat of red oxide primer applied. Two more to go. Then a few coats of stone chip stuff and paint.

Thanks for that Nath. Spent an hour down the garage this afternoon:
Filled the pinpricks in underneath and will wait until tomorrow to give them a quick sand down. Then chuck on a couple more coats of red oxide.
Next job: the sills. Then chuck some topcoat on the car. It'll be nice to have it all one colour again

Not much done throughout the week due to work, etc. Have done a wee bit more today.
Went up the M3 to meet Brian who helped me out with some tyres/wheels and a couple of other bits including a nice shiney copper T piece. Many thanks indeed, very much appreciated. Nearly adopted a lovely little cat too
LD bits done: sanded down various bits underneath and fettled a bit more in a couple of spots. All ready for some more coats of red oxide and some anti-chip coat tomorrow. Also need to adjust the fit of the new sill at the rear. Just a quick tap should do it.

Under the bootfloor now has 3 coats of red oxide primer, and a couple of coats of grey stone chip. Will do a coat of white stone chip tomorrow and that's the back end sorted.
To do:
Tidy up new sill and red oxide, etc, etc.
Tidy up old sill where it's had a patch, red oxide, etc, etc.
Smidgeon of filler on the front wing lower.
Fit replacement tyres
Paint top coat
Fit bumper, lights and grille from David and Justyn.
Wash, clay and polish.
Got to be finished by the 29th

It won't be perfect but it'll be tidy and solid.

O/S sill completed. N/S to be tackled tomorrow. It's much easier than O/S, as it's only a patch that needs tidying up and then painting.
Hopefully all will be painted in Honeysuckle by Tues. Bumper back on by Thurs at the latest, as will lights, etc. Then a good cleaning will commence in readiness for the MOT. Fingers crossed.
