Sorry for the on topic but I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!!
How can you argue that braking force is not a torque?
Its a frictional force applied at a radial distance from the centre of a disc the very definition of torque.
Then saying that you can't apply a negative torque. Torque is a VECTOR QUANTITY in thus it must have direction! In order to counter the rotational torque of a wheel and slow down a greater OPPOSITE force must be applied. So to brake a car travelling with 100Nm torque you must apply an opposite force > 100Nm.
My highest physics qualification is an A level and I understand that!!

This could be interesting, I'm having to bite my tongue, something I'm terrible at.
Back away from the keyboard, the sticker does say I <3 Haters after all.

Some fora are full of f*ckwits! (No, not this one) Honestly, if an engine has compression figures of 377psi on 1, 377psi on 2 (both absolutely bang on as new) and a mere 218 for number 3, then of course there's something wrong with it and telling its worried owner that it probably needs a remap isn't funny, it's just damned cruel to someone who's put their trust in the hands of a bunch of toffee nosed, stuck up morons with the sense of something you'd find stuck to your windscreen in this weather.
Sorry, but at least now that I'm here I can breathe out before diving back into that rather fruitless debate.
