1800 was a great car. My dad had one which had a Downton stage 3 conversion (Head, cam , carbs etc) for an MGB coupled to a Special tuning exhaust system developed for the London - Sydney. Went really well and sounded great!
I used to use it as a tow car for my autotest frog eye sprite. When the Sprite sheared a half shaft one day I completed the day n the 1800! Now that is a big old lump to do handbrake turns in!
