Am I alone in thinking that the 5-series with the fire-damaged paintwork just looks like a complete pile of sh1te?
OK, I can get rat-look on a shagged-out VW Thing or a pre-loaf Microbus, but a BMW of that sort of era and quality? WTF?

Nope, not alone at all. I don't like it either.
There are some amazing cars on RR, but there's some real crap too.
Originality is dead.

I had a great weekend at the Gathering, and the Toledo behaved very well
I will post some pics up soon.
Personally, I love Retro Rides - mostly because anything goes. The motto is 'everything has potential' which I think is a very healthy one. It is about respecting that everyone has different taste, and their car is their car. It is almost the exact opposite of the sort of snobbish attitude that can exist in one car/marque clubs (not this one that I have noticed).
It also makes it a lot more interesting than car shows for just one type of car, where conversation turns to whether someone has got the right wiper arms fitted for the year
I was very proud to win the Award, and hope that it may create some extra interest in our lovely little cars with people that may not have previously given them any thought.

Nasty, but even in that state it'd still fetch over £5000 on eBay.
