Can't argue with the logic; but, another viewpoint (mine, at least !) is that the sidelights should be at (or close to) the extremities of the width of the car, as 'markers'. I know we're only talking an inch, or two; but an inch can be the difference between getting hit, or not.

I suppose, when all said and done: It's nice to have the option, and 'you' can fit them however 'you' choose..... Ahhhh; those were the days - When we could make our own decisions, without some 'governing body' dictating how things must be :cry:
