Thank you all very much for your very helpful replies.

I will get a new battery and at the weekend check out the points and plugs to start with and if that doesn't work try some of the more involved remedies you all mention! I did wonder if part of the problem was because I had let the petrol get low and maybe the petrol that was left in the tank was mucky and had clogged things up - nuggets were inserted some years back when the petrol changed to unleaded. Will let you know after the weekend if/what has solved the problem!

1850s and Sprints don't need lead and, even if they did, these things don't actually do anything. :wink:

Thank you to all those that responded to my TD 1850 dilema back in September. Just a quick note to say thank you and that I haven't forgotten all your ideas and will get back to the forum when I have had chance to try them out. Unfortunately, other things have taken over since I contacted the forum and the Dolly problems have had to take second fiddle but, as soon as I have some free time, I will get back to sorting Dolly out so that I can be proud of her once again and will be back on the forum!
