After grinding off that chrome bumper bolt yesterday, I find that today I have black bogies!!

These gems are the very things missing from tech write-ups in the classic car mags!

I prefer to call them "ammunition" rather than black bogies Alan. Good for terrorising the kids.

Just driving up and down the M1 in a day does the same job...

Just another little trip down Memory Lane...

Here is the car when I first got it home;



And that troublesome front panel!







Most of that is either P40, other fillers included were... Plastic Padding, P38, Wood Filler.....

The Petrol tank.



I stripped it back. All of the sticks you see are stuck in the holes that I found.

It was treated internally with FROST's petrol tank repair gloop, worked really well too.

And the wheels;



I had the tyres removed, then set about them with a wire brush attachment in an electric drill, primed, top coated and new tyres put on.

I remember when I first joined the Forum, Stan Part had a link in hes signature that led to the story of the front end rebuild of his car on the Isle of Wight forum. This sort of got me hooked on Dolomite's and he became my first Forum Pal .
He helped me get my auto 1850 (now JPB's car and forum legend) changed to tax free status,and brokered the change of ownership to JPB when I got my flamenco car.

Its will be a great pleasure to see the car finished,I have been looking at examples of Uncle Franks (the body work guy) on the internet and Wow it all looks great.

had a phone call to say I can collect the car Saturday Morning .

"Just mopping back the new paint over the next few days".

To say I'm excited is a little understated to say the least .

In fact this Lunchtime I will be popping into Boots to stock up on more Nytol as I have now run out!!!
