Some advice,
It is definitely worth investing in JCS hose clips because silicone hoses are more difficult to seal than rubber.
JCS hoses can be tightened much more than the common or garden hose clip. I use the zinc plated.
When you get your hoses measure their outside diameters carefully to make sure you order the correct clips.
THIS FIRM do overnight service if there is not a local stockist.


Once you have fitted the hoses keep an eye on the coolant level.
On my 1850 I had a slight weep on the inlet manifold T-junction connection (these pipes are not beaded) but
fitting a second clip solved the problem. This occurred after I fitted a new water pump. It was okay before .

Thanks for the advice - we use JCS clips at work and they are far superior to ones that are normally supplied!

Ken - I see your point about the wheels (see pic below taken yesterday)!

Not drastic to sort out Angie, especially compared to what you have had done already.

Get them blasted as it is quicker, easier and gives a better finish. This should be around a tenner or so per wheel. Rust kill them and then coat in etch primer. Then a good couple of coats of a suitable colour and some laquer. Job done and the car will really stand out then. You should be able to get some shinier hubcaps at Stoneleigh (as well as all of the required paints, etc). Shame it ain't the resto show

It's looking brill Angie. If all thewelding is done, my offer of wax injecting it at cost still stands, as I can fit it in, when I go my Pimento Toledo later in the year.

Your car is looking great Angie. Well worth whatever it cost and I'll bet still a lot cheaper than running a modern car. (Don't tell anyone, but I think it is a lot cooler to have a car like yours than one of those flash Sprints!!!)
