Nice idea.

What makes you say that? I would expect it to dim with the other lights until the voltage across it drops below its forward voltage, then I'd expect it to go out.

Exactly, it will dim imperceptibly until it reaches that point, then will go out at once, hence my suggestion to use a PWM circuit.

T'was a good idea Chris, thanks for your help with the wiper, it fits and works really well.

Yup, that is a good mod. But, if you've been driving dollies as long as I have (since '75) you don't need lights to show you where things are. You should automatically know where your fingers/hands should go.

If anybody knows where I can buy LED lights to replace the ones in my dash I would buy a load as the standard ones are a bit crap.

Good mod ,I did a similar mod years ago, I used green plastic as a insert with the bulb above it so the light was the same colour as the gauges but did not use a led but a standard bulb and holder

must admit that looks easier to do,is the led a green light ?
I have used a small rectangular recessed light with prismatic green lens, salvaged from the dashboard of an Austin Montego many years ago.

I will show off my rear wiper tomorrow.
I have yet to retro-fit a rear-window wiper & washer to my 1974 Triumph Toledo 1300 "HL Special", which I am still investigating, but I have such an upgrade on my 1973 VW "1600" Type 2 Westfalia Continental motor-caravan, which I pioneered back in 1990.
