They look great and heated too...is that a simple on/off switch or is it more complex than that?

Wow! Good result, if I were going doing the comfort route, it would be a no brainer.

Right here goes;

Front - remove runners from Rover & Dolly front seats, swap Rover runner brackets from left to right on each seat, so they have a narrower gap, chop off various lugs that get in the way, weld Dolly runners to Rover runner brackets noting that each runners bolt centres needs to be exactly 14" apart. Bolt in , simples!

Rear - backrest is such a tight fit that once it is wedged in it aint gonna move, so no mods needed, its a perfect fit. The base needs a support under the front edge, of either a strip of wood or similar and a simple bracket to secure the seat to. There is a gap where my seat belts attach, you can see bare steel of the inner wheel arch, the easy answer is a bit of black carpet to hide it.

There is less leg room in the back as the front seats are thicker.

Would these seats be as easy to fit to a Toledo?

From memory I believe they should be just as easy, I believe that there is an additional row of seat mounting bolts under your carpet which allow the fitting of later Dolomite HL/Sprint seats, so the modification should work equally well. You'd need them to be from a 2 door so you could get into the back, otherwise there's no advantage. In your case I wonder if it is possible to modify headrest seats to flip forwards, I can't imagine it would be too difficult.

Ah, brilliant, thanks! What is the leg room like in the back of your car triple tango? It looks like the front seats are quite far back on the runners.

Yeah, I might have neglected to remember it came in a 2 door flavour!

I know it would essentially negate any advantage of upgrading seats, but would seats from a 1970s Mini fit in a similar manner? I'm sure I've seen tan vinyl with headrests before, whilst you wouldn't get the additional comfort of the later Rover seats they would be more in keeping (in terms of proportions) to the original Toledo ones, presumably you could also use seats from other BL cars like the Allegro and Marina (both offered in 2 door form)

Although, if you want to make it look original I suppose it's probably better to stick with the actual originals. I don't really know what the plans for this car are. I briefly entertained the idea of fitting VP Allegro seats in mine (a fwd so a 4 door) but eventually decided that I liked the car as is (ideally with less structural corrosion but you can't have it all!) It's all a matter of owners taste.

Those seats look absolutely amazing and,if I didn't know better,would have thought they were a factory option.

they do look good roy, so good I just had a look at rover 75s for sale in Oz, only one candidate on ebay with beige seats though.

I'd imagine you left a spare circuit from your amazing fusebox for the heated seats yeah ?

or have you organised electrical seat adjustment as well ?

ah, 45, good point. I'm not up on the Rover models and a case of reading fail.

That's fine Stu, just didn't want you rushing off and buying the first 75 seats you came across mate - all part of the service

I'm looking at alternative seats myself now and am watching a full interior on Ebay for a Rover 200 BRM which has nice red leather seats.Not too far from me depending on the eventual winning bid.
