I removed it and put my twin electric Fiamms that I've had for years on, then swopped them back before selling it.
£800 starting price for the engine + box
I bet he didn't give half that for the car.-

The car sold for £295!
I have to say if I'd had paid subscription to the salvage site I would have done something similar, unfortunately the pricing structure isn't geared to one off purchases. The most I've ever sold a good running engine for is £450 and that could be heard running, but put the £800 into perspective against the £4500 that the Quicksprint engine owes me; currently in pieces after only four outings!!

Sad news. I'd hate to see one of my old cars wrecked, especially so soon after selling it.
It's nots the first classic I've heard being crashed on the first drive by a young driver this year. It goes to show how people just aren't prepared for cars without babysitting features these days. That would have been driven across the country, in snow, with a family of 5 back in the 80s. Now it's an uncontrollable car in anything but perfect conditions.
Crazy.

I'm sure i've said this before, but i'd much rather have a rwd car in the snow than some traction controlled abs equipped fat tyred fwd monstrosity! but then I passed my test in 1971 when people were taught to drive the car instead of being driven by it! Steve
