Molly is great.....a real find that must have been.

I like the look of SD1's but back in the day when they were all a lot newer I worked for a well known cruise company. Punters would turn up in all sorts and a few had SD1's which we would then pick up quayside at Southampton and punt to the storage garage a couple of miles away the other side of the docks. So I got to drive one and I remember a gold auto, cos it came directly after a hideous yellow manual example. Why dod they make so many turmeric SD1's aaargh! I also remember the P plate, cos I had only ever seen R's and S's and even brand new T's (summer of 78). I wonder if Mr Whittaker went on a cruise...in which case I have driven your car....:-). My next drive was a XJ coupe, which I thought rather quiet and wondered why it had such high oil pressure....of course it then dawned on me when it went so well that it was an XJ12! Other highlights were an E3 3000CS coupe. Until then I thought beemers over rated but that was one to remember....gorgeous.

Sadly I thought the SD1 drive rather ordinary and then later that week I drove a well used P3 3500S...and actually fell in love. I wanted one ever after and now own one....I still think little else Ive come across goes down the road as well.

Still max respect on 2 fine cars. Long may they stay and roll that way.
