ok guys, I'm a little stuck........... :?

On the right hand side of the grill that goe's around the head lamp, that long screw that secures that part, how long/size should it be? :?:

i think that it is a 2 x 10 or it could be a 2 1/4 x 10..... can any one confirm this? has my self tappers are nacked, i have sorted the small ones out but it is the long ones i am not sure of and i can only find the above sizes in pks of 10 to 100.pcs and only on ebay, stainless steel ones, pk of 10 £2.99, i am not wanting zinc plated ones, but i will be spraying them black before i use them, so they blend in with the grill when fitted.

but before i order them i need to try and get the size right first time.

it is these little details that take the time. :wary:

No clues from the part number. I find this site useful for identifying self tappers, it tells you the outside dimension in mm of each numbered size. If they are the same as the ones that hold the side/indicator lenses then they are indeed No 10.

Paint will chip off and look crap before they are tight. Paint them in place (and again after every time they are removed), find them Black Japanned or ask Frost if this kit works on stainless and get the number you require from the first link.

Well done for taking on a Tolly, great little cars. I probably won't ever own one though, as I'd want to chop it about and make something mad, there's not really enough left to justify that any more though...

Brilliant work mate, We seem to both be both carrying out a Toledo rolling restoration simultaneously.

I refurb'd my wheels last week as well. I usually prime and spray them with "Alloy wheel" paint, however, this time i decided to use some hammerite smooth silver, it looks pretty good and should last a little longer.

Nice car mate, its been a entertaining read so far, keep it up!!! :D

It's great to see so many Toledos being restored, especially as nice ones are so rare now.

The Toledo Register has part of the club magazine dedicated to it, called "Toledo 2-4" - and so I have deleved into the club's Toledo archives and have written a piece on the Toledo's history for the next issue.
