whats wrong with clutch??

Thinking of buying a Dolomite? Just bought one but don't know what to do next? This forum is specially for you!

Sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging properly. It might be a hydraulic problem, or a bent clutch arm. That might explain why the wear on the clutch was so bad.

think i may have found the problem with my clutch....
clutch itself is fine.

i think the whole crank is moving..i.e thrust washer are shot.
end float on the crank can be measured with a tape measure!! (1/8th of a inch)

The 1500 engine prone to this...the 1300 not quite so...

You need to sort it pronto or irreperable damage to crank and bearing cap will result if it hasnt already.
