I think you would struggle. Why not consider what Al did with his Tolly? He bought some sandwiched corrugated plastic sheet from B&Q and fabricated his own cards. They look bloody brilliant. I believe he used vinyl and alicantra (sp) to cover the cards. Please correct me if I'm wrong Al.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

Are you the same Bryce who is the son-in-law of Martin (Raider)? Those photos must have been taken at the Keighley Bus Museum. I know because I can see the UK's last trolley bus in the background of the photo of the Niva. I wish I had those facilities. I'd love to take a look at your Tolly. I had a 2-door one myself and I still have a few bits left.

On the subject of alloys, I'd have Sprint ones (Brown is wearing Sprint alloys), Minilites slot mags or Spitfire/GT6 steelies as they're period. Just make sure the offset doesn't affect the suspension geometry. Sprint alloys don't have this problem but if you go wider than 185 tyres you might have problems with clearance. I've got some Sprint front hubs with the later thicker 7/16" studs if you want to stick with the Sprint alloys. Have you considered a Toledo TS conversion?

Yes Thats me. You are more than welcome to come over any time. I intend on making the suspension adjustable but I will also be keeping the Sprint wheels on for a while.

It was a sporty version of the Toledo that Triumph never put into production. A parts catalogue was published. It is a 2-door Toledo with Dolomite 1500 running gear, bri-nylon seats, Sprint spoiler, side stripes, steel wheels with 1500HL/1850HL hubcaps, more instruments in the dashboard, TS badges and a vinyl roof. There's a Toledo TS thread HERE

Hi. Welcome to the Forum. That's a great slection of cars you have there and the Toledo looks like a solid wee car. It looks as though you have great facilities for working on it.

That is a very tasty looking Toledo indeed, lovely stuff...! I am pleased to see another one getting some love, the Toledo is a much underated motor but it really is a bit of a gem...! I think that trying to do a TS replication would be grand but you may find you want to go a bit left-field on the engine choice if it's power you're after... Keep us posted with developments, I can't wait to see how this one turns out...

Great to see another Toledo getting some love, Like Martin I too have gone the Vauxhall route on powerplant, though on a much smaller budget! BTW is that a Bristol 401 I see making a cameo appearance in a couple of the shots?

You're not wrong Ken, although you are being very generous.
I wanted door cards that sat below the top of the door, as I wanted more exposed painted metal. Would be trickier to make something that sits onto the horizontal I'd imagine.
Everything was just glued on, not sure how long it will last but the easiest option at the time. I'd love to get some nice stitching around them too ideally....

That looks really good. I like the attention to detail. Did you do a Blog on your build.

Hey Bryce, good luck with the project! If you decide to get rid of the Sprint alloys let me know - I'm only in Bradford and although I have a set they need some work, if yours are decent might be able to sort something out. If not, no worries!
