I'm in negotiations at the moment with the wife about camping.

I was kind of planning to scoot (as much as a little fwd can scoot) on the very morning of the bash...... camping... nah, did that in the cubs and nearly drowned in floods

Well I said I was in negotiations....

I figure the best chance of her going is with the promise of loads of beer, a disposable BBQ and a tent

If not then I doubt I'll camp on my own cos' that's just too sad even for me

Any of the Scottish drivers make the journey to the Midlands?

I could always take the train....!

I may drop in to have a poke around and see if there's anything interesting to see

Hi, I'm a newby to the world of Dolomites and the club. I'll be coming to the International on the 9th and just wondered if, like at the TR register, they have mobile tuning vans there.

I want to make sure my new 1850 is set up absolutely right. Alternatively, can anyone recommend a garage who are good near Leicester/Market Harborough.

There haven't been mobile tuning vans there before but the place will be a swarm of Dolly enthusiasts who are bound to help you out and getting it running well.

Did once go to a show at Tatton Park that had a mobile rolling road, the noise, the fumes, the big bang as a car let it's big ends go!

Ouch! You would not be happy about that! What kind of car was it?

The TR International tuners are fairly well regarded and there is always a queue of cars waiting their turn, they set my 2000 up like a dream.

I could bring my stuff (timing light, etc) and get the tuning data from the workshop manuals. What year is your Dolly?

October '79.

The seller had to get the mixture adjusted to get it through its MOT. The oldest Triumph I've had has been '73 and I think the emissions tests are different for a '79 car? Would I be right in assuming that it may be fairly common to have to reduce the performance of the car to get it through its MOT and then crank it back up...................?!

It's an easy fix, but if everything else is ok (ignition, air leaks etc) there's no reason why your car shouldn't pass the MOT with the normal carb settings.
