Handbrake warning light?

For everything to do with Dolomites, Toledos, FWD cars and Dolomite-based kitcars.

Since acquiring our Sprint, the H/B warning light doesn't extinguish (well it has on the odd occasion!) - I suppose it must be a 'sticky' switch, though it seems very difficult to acces to verify...(?)

Ian.

If your sprint has a tandem braking system I would start by disconnecting the cable that goes to the Pressure Differential Warning Actuator PDWA as I believe that on sprints like my 15OOHLs the brake warning light comes on to indicate either the handbrake is on or there may be a problem with the brake hydraulics. My experience is that the PDWA is more of a problem than it is worth. I believe the important thing is to check that there is not a hydraulic leak by checking the level of the brake hydraulic fluid regularly. If there is a leak from the master cylinder you will often see it leaking out below the master cylinder / servo junction.
