Will any purists object to having to use metric bolts to fix the parcel shelf support bar to the sides of the tunnel? I can't find any specialist fixings to create the captive nuts with an imperial thread? I know the racers won't likely bother with the bar or the shelf, but it seems silly to create a mould that won't cater for the requirements of all...
Alun, remind me - are they clinch nut type fixings? If yes, I have a supplier of imperial sizes, cheap too.

No Bill, they are a specialist fitting for use with GRP; I use the manufacturers with GRP work in the building industry, they also have an automotive application arm but only do metric threads.

Would a purist ever fit a GRP tunnel?????
Good point. Well presented. I'll crack on then!
And yes, I know of at least one former club member who would have kept his car from being completed and enjoyed for the sake of not fitting a GRP tunnel if nothing else was available!

I hope to have them by the Triumph Show...
Out of interest, what is the thread size of the bolts which attach the parcel shelf support bar to the side of the tunnel? Is it 3/16 UNF?

It's 7/16" A/F, 1/4" UNF thread.

M6 would be closest then; suppose I'd better supply the tunnels with 4 x M6 bolts for customer convenience

Yes, they only do metric; they are the folk I was going to use but the fabricator now has an alternative to show me...

That's seven expressions of interest then so far; I'll base costs on a few more over time then. Was going to see a few folk today, but with the pesky white stuff around the idiots around here are failing to cope and grid locking the streets, so I stayed at home in front of the fire!

sounds wise!
one of the biggest dangers of weather like this is the dodgy driving by other road users.....the fluffy white stuff seems to bring it out in them!
and yay for GRP gearbox tunnels
