As promised a few pics will start putting more on as time goes by.

Parts needed to be sourced are :-

1. Exhaust system.

2. Lower shelf panels and fan outlet which houses the choke cable.

3. Rear parcel shelf in brown.

4. Left and right hand lower front panels in brown.

5. Off side rear door .

6. Drivers door glass and quarter glass .

7. Eight wheels nuts and four wheel centres.

Nice job.

Did you take note of how good the seal was on teh rear light units....a favourite leak spot that will have the tank and spare wheel in a swimming pool...

What did you use to paint the boot lid?

Soon be up and running at this rate....

The boot lid i just used t cut , there is a few scratches on the lid but that is war wounds which will stay on the car. on the bonnet i used matt black , think it highlights the colour very well.

Yeah light seals i bought from rimmer bros .


Hopefully it wont be long . The seats and carpet is all back in.

Just need to source other bits .

Its a good solution for the bonnet.

What happened to the driver's door glass? I may have spare here, I certainly have a quarterlight glass and can find 8 nuts for you too, I should have remembered I'd only put 8 on.

OSR door will be difficult, they are the first to go for some reason and hence in short supply, which is why I put the repair panel in.

Cheers for the comments , the glass has weld pitting in it , i tried to clean it out but no luck . i am also after the trim that fits on the lower of the door panels ....


I may need a hand in figuring out where the leads connect too......

Thanks for the offer of parts .... much appreciated ... i am cracking on with it so i can take it to my dads grave to show him in a way as it was going to be our project together.

Hi Guys,

So back on to the sprint project now the stag is done.

I have bought a very good cylinder head for replacement, has anyone got any tips for removing the cylinder head ...

Also has anyone got a good second hand stainless steel system for the sprint.

Removing the cylinder head should be fairly simple. The studs and bolts should come undone more easily in a Sprint engine as they are soaked in oil bit it does depend on how long they've been in and any corrosion that might have occured between the differing metals. With the studs out the head should lift off without too much difficulty. Note the head will not lift off with the angled studs still in!

Turned out well then compared with the condition it was in when it was for sale.
