I won't be using reprofiled cams anymore either, although I did get between 15-18 track days out of my STR91. The first pita was getting hold of the thicker shims, they're far thicker than anything Rimmers stock so I had mine made to order from Sprintparts. Then what happens when you need to adjust the clearances because of wear & tear?

I was going to fit another reprofiled cam but when I stripped my head down & saw the state of the rockers I thought nah! never again.

It was nice to get back to using normal sized shims again, all of which I had in stock. :D

I got Frenchy running again today. :D Started it up & left it running at about 1700-1800 rpm for 20 mins. Apart from backfiring now & then it sounded fine. I have it booked in for a rolling road session in a couple of weeks to get the Webers tuned & re-jetted properly to suit the new cam.

I also fitted my new trumpets.

Whilst I was rummaging through my loft I came across some nos M/Cs. I believe the one with the reservoir will fit my Sprint so I may use that as I haven't been able to fix the pipe for the remote reservoir.
