Not wise to run with the cable disconnected as the cable gives the increased pressure required for larger throttle openings. It's OK for a test drive on light throttle but that's about it. Selector position isn't really any help with this problem on these particular boxes as "2" is 1-2 2-1, not second gear only, so it's no different to "D". Either of them will suffer the late upshift, and there's no way of manually selecting second.Jon Tilson wrote:So if the cable is disconnected can't you just drive it on the selector or just as is in D?
