I found it boring, my wife switched to a re-run of Midsommer Murders, playing "guess who gets it next" was more enjoyable than listening to Quentin Wilson's and Jodie Kidd's monologuing. At least in Mid.Murders eventually the dislikable people get it, whereas Quentin will always be on that car show show blah, blah blahing.

Indeed...but last nights show was a lot better.

I didn't feel quite so like topping QW as I normally do when I see him....

The show is the equivalent of that high end classic car mag Quentin Wilson writes for. For people who think 20K is a bargain car, and have a man to look after the fleet of Italian supercars in the garage in the grounds. Not really for people who spend their days fixing cars themselves.

Those who said classic car rescue is the worst show are right. Complete joke, with them acidentally setting fire to cars every week. In one case substituing one car for another halfway through.

I have a soft spot for Wheeler Dealers. OK the buying bit is faked, and nobody gets a rusty nut off as easily as Ed, but they don't have the daft drama of other shows, and Ed China knows his stuff.

An MG is born is very good, very in depth, and James May is godd value when you can get him away from Top Gear.

I too have a soft spot for Wheeler Dealers, though I wish Ed China worked for me! A good mechanic who works for peanuts is always good to know!

Mike Brewer is a tool and adds nothing to the show other than me wanting to punch him in the face

Brewer a tool? yep I am with you on that he once bought a terrible MX5 with rust all over it (when the prog was made there were plenty of rust free mk1's).
He then bodged it to hell and claimed a profit but clearly the work done was more than he got for the car.
track action maniac.

At the NEC show in November, my wife had to be physically restrained from disembowelling this Bell end...he does more harm than good: her words and thoughts can't be reprinted here!

Quentin Wilson is undeniably annoying, but Brewer is a menace to society!
Come and see some pretty shoddy, slow driving of a really well prepared competition Sprint here!

Is Mike Brewer really all that bad? Some people aren't the same as what they come across on the telly. You've gotta remember that he was a car dealer in a previous life. He's good at the buying and selling so he can get a good deal on cars and parts. The MX5 episode was the first one I ever saw. They were on a small budget back then and a rust-free MX5 would've been above that budget and probably had zero profit potential.

Car SOS is a good watch featuring Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw. Fuzz was a staff writer for Practical Classics at one time and his father-in-law's MGB GT restoration was featured in the mag recently.
Car SOS depresses me a bit. It usually ends with something like 'It's 10.pm and we've got to restore the cylinder head, put the engine back in, put a new crown wheel in the diff, paint the bonnet and put a new roof lining on before we show it to the bloke at 9.00 am tomorrow. So It's going to be tight'.

I've been meaning to put a new fuel line in for weeks.

Yes he is that bad. I've had the misfortune to meet him several times at various press events over the years and in real life he's even more annoying and arrogant. He's not good at anything other than being a knob and nor can he drive properly. Last time I saw him he fell over as he was trying to use his phone, light a fag and remember he's Mike Brewer all at the same time. It was too much for him but it made my day.
