A fair amount of stuff is interchangeable IIRC, I am sure other folks can say if not.

Some purchases turned up today. First off the new plates:
Then the N.O.S rear lights. I dont need them but whilst they are available I may as well get them:
And all the underseal/paint kit including a suit, respirator, goggles, rollers etc:
Looking forward to getting cracking next week!

I stripped out the carpet today and removed the gearbox tunnel ready for painting the underneath. I didnt leave it in as im told this paint drys like concrete and didnt want it 'stuck' in after.
Also changed the shocks today for Dolly ones and its lifted it 5 inches. I think ill need to go get some custom springs!

Don't worry too much about the ride height. It will settle once you've put some miles on the car. Then you can think about soring it out. How about putting a photo up then we can say if it is too high?

So today then....
Heres how it sat with the other shocks on:
Stripped off the exhaust and prop:
Should there be any kind of guide for the handbrake cable? Seems odd to just pass through and continually rub on the bracket:
Dropped the axle:
Popped next door for a cuppa where my neighbour is creating a couple of beauties:
Then i got donned up and got cracking:
Rubbed down the underside but didnt get any pics of that, then made a start on the inner arch stripping:
Bare metalling them and going to have them sprayed up. Ive decided im going for the proper rat type look. Original Rough patina'd body and mint underside and running gear.

The club do nylon bushes for the handbrake cable bracket.

The front end looks a tad too high. It still might settle down once the car has been driven a few miles.

The suspension will definitely need replacing. Its all a mishmash of various parts.
Wheres the club shop?

Cracking job so far! Keep the pics coming please.
That lift must be a joy..when I did mine, it took me months of lying on cold concrete while knocking my bonce on the axle stands..
