Yes its a davies craig ewp 80 with fan controller. Not exactly as standard no. Ive got a 90° pipe welded to the plate on the back of the head straight into the heater from there. Out of heater straight to the water pump cover. Bypass tube (with o rings) removed and 7/8" core plugs fitted to the pump cover and bottom of inlet manifold. Club bung in place of the original w/pump.

Top hose has the temp sensor fitted for the pump and fan
At the moment the heater pipes get quite warm just sat there idling so we'll see how it performs once its got a heater fan connected

I don't think this is quite right for a single EWP set up....
cylinder head to heater is good but heater to pump cover is not.

Instead I believe the heater outlet should go to the bottom hose between radiator and EWP.
(The bottom hose from the header tank should also be plumbed in here.)

The hose tail on the pump cover will need to blanked off.

With your set up, there will be no flow through the heater. Some folk fit a second (small) EWP to counter this but
I understand that this addition is not needed if plumbed as I have outlined above.

I haven't fitted an EWP (yet) but, in pursuit of better fuel economy, am considering doing so (along with a lightweight alternator).
Fitting a Saab clutch cover (which is nearly 3kg lighter than the OE) has certainly made a significant difference.

Thanks Ian, Ive only had the car running with the fan motor removed so far but the pipes to and from the heater are getting heat -how much time will tell. I'm trying to keep it clean as I can in the bay but if needed I will T piece into the bottom hose later.

I have a denso alternator fitted too I'll see if theres a pic handy :)

That is to be expected, with the heater's inlet valve open, even if the coolant isn't actually flowing through the heater, heat from the cylinder head will still be transmitted
through the hose to the heater matrix.

Thanks for posting the photo of your alternator installed, Tony.
Yes it is one like that I am considering, which I will likely buy from Car Builder Solutions, seeing as they give a discount to TDC members.
I am thinking Winter project :) ....
