I had planned on using 15x10 tyres on the rear and 15x7 on the front but it wouldn't have suited it. They were the kind of wheels you see on 131 arbarth rally cars

Sounded a good idea though they always looked good on the Abarths, but I'm sure you will find something that suits :-)

Now i do have a soft spot for BBS Cross-Spokes (as I've had rakes of E30's in my time) however i don't think they would suit a Dolly (personally), however the Gold rims (whatever they are!) look more period but only if they weren't ridiculous in their diameter :-) But really....what do i know as i only have things 100% standard lol

Kind Regards

Russell.

Yeah, the diameter of the gold things is 15" and I think the black BBS RS wheels will suit it more than say gold ones

The gold 131 wheels will look more period

The next issue with the wheels, the cost of a 15x7 225 toyo r888r is about 110 each, for a 15x10 285 is 325 each!!!!

Yeah, exactly.

I can get the 131 style wheels in 15x8, but I don't think they would suit, maybe, I'll see if I have the money

To get even 8" rims on the back of a Dolly will require the arches cutting out and forest arches installing - which is good news if your arches are a bit flakey!

Good news, they aren't that flakey to begin with

Bad news, the few patches of rust on the car is the drivers side rear jacking point and the d/s bonnet mount but only underneath it

Right, got the parts car sorted. A nice nick s type in dark blue, it really is a nice car, shame to be breaking up really. Now it's just a waiting game till I can get time to start taking it apart

Yeah, something like that.

I seen a bloke on here with what looked like black SD1 wheels and that looked sweet. BBS RS wheels are close enough

Indeed.....shame to brake up a nice S type...

Why not just put that back on the road and keep it a proper Triumph. A tr7 engine means that both cars are much more likely]to survive.

The trouble with fitting this type of "modern" engine with all the engine electronics, immobilisers, sensors and what not to a classic
of the dolomite period is you need some serious electronic expertise to get it to run at all even if you do manage to do the metalwork to fit it.

I don't want to rain on your garden party but I can see some real problems with this conversion....

Didn't say I was ditto in all the electronic gubbins as well, just the engine and gearbox. It'll still look and feel like a dolly but will go quicker that a sprint
