On your radio check the two positive leads, if the memory one is thicker, connect directly to the battery as this
is the main feed. I have found some radios differ, some take more from the ign lead some dont.

Personally, I would still put a relay (fused) to the ign connection and then to the battery,(fused) removes amp usage on the
main loom, and gives a smooth positive supply.

As soon as my car is back, the first thing going in is the stereo, I will post pictures of the work if it helps.

There are actually two " white-and-pink " wires.
The pink wire with a narrow white tracer running down it is the ballasted resistor wire for the ignition coil supply.
The radio supply wire is a white wire with a narrow pink tracer ( as has been noted )

Now here is another difference between early < VA15,000 and later Sprints.
Early cars have the heater blower motor wired into position 1 of the ignition switch so you can run the heater blower with the rest of the system ignition off. These have a white wire with a pink tracer before going to an inline connector where it changes to a green wire. The radio wire is also white with pink tracer
Later cars > 15,000 have the heater motor wired to the IGN ON part of the switch , but the two White wires with a pink tracer are wired differently. One goes to the radio ( Ref 6 ) so that it only works with the ignition switch in position 1 and the other is an " Optional heater motor supply " ( Ref 84).

So Tony does that mean that early Sprints do not have the extra white/pink radio wire?

Sorry about that. I didn't write that very well, so I have re-worded it above.
But yes, both early and late Sprints have the white & pink tracer radio wire.
