I borrowed a mates multimeter and now I'm getting readings of 13.4 from the positive terminal to everywhere else in the engine bay.
I feel somewhat relieved now and I've organised to keep the multimeter until I either finish the job or buy another.
Just as soon as this domestic mountain isn't in front of me I'll get into looking more closely at your suggestions.......AND "Thank you" for them.
I enjoy this forum and the help that you chaps provide. Its much appreciated.
I hope I'm not too much of a pest though.
