Having met James May and finding him easy going pleasant sort I watch his programes.
I like his series and especially the Sprint which outshone the BMW in every way bar reliability.

My late son always put the Sprint down until I showed him a 2002 in a car park and he noticed the dull interior and informed him of their inferior performance.
track action maniac.

The lunatic is out................heres Jonny!

Article sent to Steve W for Dolly Mixture with more photos.
DIdn;t have much time to talk with James but he did, indeed, seem to be just like his on screen persona. Without guile and totally Car mad.
It isn't Orange!!!!!!
The other one wasn't Purple either!!!
One of the new ones will probably be green, very green.
Another new one is green too but not as green as the previous one. Still pretty green. No, now it's Blue.
The other new one will be white with stripes. Actually it might not. No, it will be.
BUT, that one is definitely Yellow :=}

Its not unreasonable to pitch a Sprint against either an 02 or an E21.

Neither is as good as a Sprint from many points of view. The E21 does get a six cylinder engine in some versions, but they were always more expensive cars. The 2002tii was about 1500 quid more than the Sprint with 2 less doors and not as quick...

I reckon the BM's weren't totally competitive with Sprints until the E30 325i....

If only BL had had the dosh and balls to do the SD2 properly....
