I ended up buying a Davies Craig 12" electric fan

I was WAY wrong on the price I quoted in an earlier post, with the whole thing including postage and GST totalling AU$277. (148 UK Pounds) (Which makes the Kenlowe product look much better).
Its in the post right now and I expect I'll be installing it this coming weekend.
The Davies Craig Electric Water-pumps look interesting.

Maybe the Kenlow is marginally cheaper, but the Davies Craig controller looks a lot better than the poke down the side of the hose job with a 1970's Tricity 3 ring cooker knob on the controller!
I'm planning on using something more like the
Revotec electronic controller, not that cheap at £72 thought I must admit.
