Admittedly having a car you don't give a toss about helps in such games.
This is very true!
Back in the day I had an old Austin Westminster, I think I paid a fiver for it. It had no exhaust to speak of (audible warning of approach) and one headlight hanging out of the rust eaten wing on the wires - plus other minor foibles.
EVERYONE gave way to that car! Road hogs, lorries, taxis, it didn't matter if I was in the wrong lane or the wrong side of the road, NOBODY got on the wrong side of ME in that car cos it was obvious I had nothing to lose! I actually missed it when it died and I got something more civilised, that car shaved 10 mins off my morning commute to work!
Of course these days plod would be all over it like flies on s**t, but in the early 70s nobody cared.

Would they? I've not seen or heard of the plod handing out a 7 day wonder in decades. The number of cars driving with failed lights is far worse today than in my youth for example.

All the traffic rozzers have been replaced by speed cameras and CCTV, rare to see a jam sandwich on the motorway and the traffic wombles don't count!
Used to collect producers on a weekly basis (probably be reportable as harassment now) and took great delight and scoring some weird moral victory by always taking in my docs on the very last day at as near to midnight as I could.

What's the point of two exit lanes if the inside lane approach takes the inside exit but the outside lane can only continue round ?
Every day I drive the wrong way round a roundabout and still stay legal.

If there are two lanes approaching a roundabout, you are turning left, but the left lane is busy, it is perfectly legit to take the right lane. Then just go round the roundabout, now with priority.
I'm pleased to learn that my Audi has indicators. Does anyone know where they are?
