A good fully charged battery, off the car, should hold 12.5 volts or thereabouts almost indefinitely. Certainly for months rather than days.

Straight after a charge or run, you would expect to see a higher charge, maybe 13V plus. You will have a surface charge which will drain after a period of time or if you were to connect a bulb or something to take away the surface charge immediately. The battery should remain at around 12.6V, 12.2V is a little low.
