Should it be full with oil ? Going to remove the cable tomorrow and do a bit more digging it see what I can find. Thanks

Yes, sorry just above the tops of the pistons will be fine. Filling it up won't do it any harm!

After looking in there couldn't see any oil although the pistons move up and down very smoothly will top it up in the morning and have a fiddle to see what I can find.

Oil level in SU's should be just below the top of the sliding piston and needs a top up every 1000 miles...

I use ATF as its got the same viscosity over a wider temp range.
