Ah, you don't get that with my solid mounts as I've designed them so that they work in two ways....

I noticed when I was fitting the Paddock's/J*GS*W type that as they are hoops, that until fully tightened they allow the rack to both rotate axially and move unchecked from side to side. Acceptable if you're retaining one standard clamp as they locate into the tab in the rack.

My solid rack mounts are quite wide so they locate the rack absolutely centrally in the car and it can't move from side to side. Additionally, they also have a lip on the opposite side that locates the tab of the rack horizontally so the rack can't twist forward or backwards.

That'll be why I can't remember the offside one dropping off and hitting me on the head then when fiddling around underneath! :)
